Grant Us Your Desire

 1 Grant us your desire to seek the lost.

May we joyfully confess the cross,

Inviting a world of aching hearts

To behold your good desire

That all should be saved.

Grant us opportunity

And the confidence to act.

Give us eyes to see hurting souls

Longing for the news we hold,

Courage then to speak.

2 Tempting is the serpent who lies:

"Are your neighbors worth the sacrifice?"

May we not permit him to defraud

Our treasure: the Word of God.

On this truth we stand.

Keep our minds focused and clear.

Through your Word, our courage flares.

Every human soul, bought with blood.

Christ set and secured man’s worth

With His gift of grace!
 

3 Placed into diverse circumstance,

You have called us all to be your hands.

Whether it be in career or home,

Help us to be one in goal.

You commission us

To share in your good desire,

Preaching Christ the Lord of all,

Training in the Word, baptizing,

Witnessing you gather in

Wayward souls to grace.
