An original hymn of trust through trials and the sovereignty of God
-Referencing Jeremiah 17:8, Romans 8:28, Philippians 4:7
1 God's perfect gifts are free and many,
Though we often fail to see
How his hand is ever guiding,
Bringing joy through tragedy.
We can trust His sovereign hand,
Our all knowing, faithful Head,
To determine amidst the trials
Where our tired souls be lead.
2 God's perfect plan can still be trusted
When the drought is all we see.
Like a tree planted near water,
Faith sends roots into the stream,
Drinking up a holy trust,
Sending life into the wood.
Although the heat may seem oppressive,
We know Christ is carving good.
3 God's perfect will does not forsake us
When the mystery of pain
Feels established and alarming.
Jesus orchestrates our gain.
Oh the depths of certainty
That our hearts are blessed to own!
God's hidden will becomes a comfort
When His promises are known.
4 God's perfect promises provide us
With the peace surpassing all;
For we know His love is steady
And His Word dependable.
No attempt the devil brings
To distract us from Christ's love
Can void the gift of our assurance
Christ accomplished on the cross!
